We all look forward to going to Jeffrey and Kathleen’s on July 4th. It’s a perfect gathering place and after dark, we can see the whole valley from their deck, watching fireworks exploding around us. This year we had a great showing from the Owens clan, who were in town for an Owens family reunion this weekend. It was fun to have these Arizona families with us.
The potluck food is always exceptional, with specialty burgers by Jeffrey, also Brats and hotdogs for the kids. Garrett made his famous onion rings, Celest brought 2 kinds of potato salad, we had other salads and delicious fruit and then the Pies, oh, the PIES!! Thanks to Di for the pies!
John made 3 freezers of homemade ice cream, 2 vanilla and one strawberry.
Di’s Pies. It’s right her name rhymes. Fresh strawberry and peach, apple and apricot. YUM!
Our family is growing with a few newlyweds and a few new babies.
What a gift to celebrate our troubled nation in our own way with our own family.
