I am a Senior Citizen!

Yesterday was my 55th Birthday.  A friend recently sent me an email listing all the places where I can now ask for discounts on restaurants, groceries,  retail, apparel, travel, accommodations, activities and entertainment, and other miscellaneous purchases.  The list was several pages long.  I am wondering why the discounts?  Do they think we are too old to leave our homes and must now be coaxed out with all of these perks?  Or are they just being kind because we are so old and they honor and respect us?  I doubt that’s the reason.

In any case, I am a year older and a year wiser.  I have more gray highlights in my hair, which I love.  My kids baked a coconut cake for me last night and it was delicious.  We’ve had an amazing week of wedding celebrations.  Last night Claire moved to her BYU apartment in Provo, and next week Aaron leaves for Chile.  I love my life and I love my family.  And I love my friends and I love being involved in good causes.  It’s going to be a very good year.
