John served a mission in Switzerland 1973-1975.  He Loved it there and has enjoyed keeping in touch with missionary friends here and in Switzerland.  They’ve been trying hard to find and contact as many missionaries as possible from their era with Pres Cannon.  There were about 60 Elders and Sisters in the mission back then.  About half of them came here today.  It was great to see these old guys together again!  The last time they had a reunion was in 1999.

We grilled brats and I made 2 large pans of fried potatoes and onions.  Others brought a wonderful spread of Swiss pot luck foods.  It was delicious.

It’s been interesting to have our young missionary reunion, then this old missionary reunion here in the last couple of weeks.  The bonds and friendships that form on missions are long-lasting.  I hope our youngsters are still gathering long after we’re gone, just like this!
