The Western Wall on Christmas Day

We made our way to the Western Wall and spent some time there, on the plaza and at the wall.  We spent about an hour there, soaking it all in, watching people and enjoying all we saw. There were lots of families, soldiers, and individuals dressed for worship with the hats, the side locks, the black coats, the shawls and tassels. I went on the women’s side. Many of the women shave their heads and wear wigs after they’re married. All come to pray. Many read from prayer books, swaying and moving with their whole souls. Parents were teaching children. Many were visitors and foreigners, come from other lands. Interesting languages. Little boys with their kippah caps on their heads, trying to behave. Such a rich culture and such a temple-loving people who have no temple. How will it be when all is restored here??
