Working on lots of Quilts in February

I did some sewing in this month of February.  Taking things easy while I heal from my surgery and go to radiation every day.  Gratefully, I can cut fabric just fine!  I finished the last of the Stars in the Garden Quilt above, now I need to work on the pieced sashing and borders.

I made 2 fun Valentine’s Quilts for the kids, using some charm packs I had on hand.  The leftovers went into a doll quilt for the little girls.

Blocks on the ironing board:

My Snowball Quilt came back from the quilter.  I love it.

The Snowmen are also quilted now, waiting for their eyes and buttons.

I got a little carried away with this Christmas Tree quilt and ended up cutting out THREE of them, one for each of the kids one day.

I cut out blocks for a king-sized Disappearing Nine-Patch in blue for a friend and worked on the sashing blocks for Stars in the Garden:

I love watching my waste basket fill with bits and pieces!

I’ve taken over the ping pong table downstairs, cutting here on this corner.

Here’s the start of another quilt I’m working on.  I’ve sewn strips of strips to go between these large blocks.  This will be a very scrappy fall quilt.

Then I pulled out some low volume fabrics to cut for several quilts using them.

I also found a tub of 30’s fabrics cut in 2.5″ strips.  I decided to use them up in a scrap quilt with blocks like this one:

My Christmas Tree Quilt came back from the quilter, along with the 2 Valentine’s Quilts!

I just can’t tell you how much working with fabric lifts my spirits.  I am so happy surrounded by beautiful fabrics.  I love to pick it.  I love to cut it.  I love to sew it.  I am in my happy place here.  I hope you all find your happy places!
