Starting a New Quilt Group in Midway, Utah

Today was a red-letter day for a handful of wonderful quilters in Midway, Utah.  We’ve been talking about starting a group here for some time.  I was called on to get the ball rolling, so today was the day we met to organize ourselves.  We met in the home of Pauline Kacher, who served in Ghana while we were in Bamako.  We each invited friends, who invited other friends and today 8 of us came together with a few of our quilts.

Here are some of the quilts we enjoyed today, made by these amazing women:

We’ve decided to meet every-other week from 10:00-12:00 noon.  We’ll bring handwork or a project to work on and visit and enjoy getting better acquainted.  This is going to be so fun!

Pauline showed us the quilt above from her husband’s mission in Tahiti and the quilt below made in Egypt.

She also has a nice collection of African fabrics.
