Stonewood 4th Ward Pioneer Day Breakfast

We’ve been the party planners in the ward since our return from Africa.  Today was our last gig–the Annual Pioneer Day Breakfast.  This year we held it in the church parking lot, starting at 8:30 a.m.  It was so much fun, not to mention so much work!

The children came at 9:00 to prepare for the parade around the churchyard.  Our Primary presidency helped with decorations and balloons for their bikes and scooters.

It’s such a joy to watch neighbors arrive and see the faces we love.

This year we simplified the food prep by delivering eggs and melons to helpers the day before so they could bring them prepared and ready to eat this morning.  We served hot scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes with homemade syrup, watermelon, cantaloupe and orange juice.  The bacon and pancakes were cooked here on camp stoves.

Dallin Anderson, our new bishop, and some of his beautiful family:

By the end of the morning, this was all that was left:

I will enjoy looking back on this morning and seeing the faces of friends I love.
