Recovering From My Hip Replacement

Here is my happy hip recovery place.  I’m hunkered down by the fireplace, surrounded by a stack of books and my quilts projects!  It’s nice to have a few weeks of quiet to move through this process.   I was instructed to get up and walk a bit every hour, so I took laps around the house with a walker the first week.  It was painful when the nerve block wore off.  I slept on the sofa the first 3 nights, then was able to navigate the stairs with crutches.

I’d prepared 4 Chopped Snake Quilts–the bindings were sewn on and ready to be stitched down.  I love binding quilts.  I listened to Christmas music and audio books while I worked.  These will go to the kids for Christmas.

After a couple of days, the quilts were finished and ready for Christmas gifting.

It was fun to use up binding scraps, sewn together, on these scrap quilts.
