A thought for today comes from Poet Ranier Maria Rilke, one of the German language’s greatest 20th century poets. He was born on this day in Prague 138 years ago. His words match my feelings after returning from 10 days in Mali:
“I live my life in widening circles that reach out across the world.”
I love living in a world enlarged by friends in many places and countries. I love coming home to my life here, but seeing it through different eyes. Each time I go and come, I am a different person than when I left. I hope I am more sensitive, more aware, more compassionate, more willing to share.
Today I will work on the trip journal and photos. I have much to share as I organize everything in my mind and memories. Please stay tuned!
