A Farewell Quilt for BYU’s President Samuelson!

IMG_2726
Here’s the family last weekend during General Conference.  As we listened to the inspired messages from our leaders, I worked on a quilt that will be presented to President Samuelson tomorrow as a gift from the BYU Alumni Board.    Today I finished binding it and tonight I’ll add the label.  The words of the BYU Cougar Fight Song are embroidered into the inside border.  I hope he and Sharon enjoy this remembrance of their 11 years at BYU.IMG_2752 IMG_2753The yard today was way too beautiful to not snap this shot of the snow-topped mountains that surround our valley.IMG_2758

Here’s an update after presenting the quilt to Cec and Sharon–

Thank you for creating that beautiful quilt for the Samuelsons as a memory of their time at BYU. I have wanted to find some way to thank them for the excellent leadership and untiring service they gave to BYU followers and students. They are great!

What a great idea for a memory quilt. We will miss president Samuelson. What on earth will the students do without the chant “swoosh Cecil” ?!
