Oh My, another Amazing American Quilting Retreat has come and gone! How fun to step back into a world I used to live in–the world of Quilting! We had 4 full days at the Zermatt Resort in Midway, Utah. Pretty Amazing. 144 Women. 144 Machines. One Room. Imagine the excitement and creativity in the air! It was fabulous. Here are a few photos from the week:
Nena, a Days for Girls Queen from Vernal, always helping:
Finished quilts from last year’s retreat classes:
Here is the give-away kit for this year–with lots of sun shiny samples of how to use the buttery yellow fabric:
One of my favorite classes this year:
Our own Norma Whaley from Timeless Traditions Quilt Company.
Our National Guest Quilter, Carrie Nelson from Miss Rosie’s Quilt Company:
Donna Vidmar taught her fabulous applique method and showed a few of her quilts:
I made 5 of these quilts last year from Amy’s pattern:Classes every hour, in every room:
Carrie Nelson did a wonderful trunk show:
Melissa Clark, my dear friend:
Here’s my spot. I spent the week prepping applique pieces for a huge Americana Album Quilt I hope to take with me to Washington to work on there. This is what it will look like when I’m finished:
Meeting Carrie Nelson was a highlight. I’ve loved her patterns for years. It was wonderful to see her quilts in person and to teach her about our Days for Girls work. She was fascinated by what we are doing and loved learning about another way to use and love fabric!
What a great retreat. Thanks to Amy McClellan and her beautiful daughters and all who helped make this a perfect week.
I found your blog via a Pinterest pin (quilting!). Adding you to my feed and looking forward to following your quilting and learning more about Days for Girls! Someone in my quilt guild presented about it last month. Cynthia in MA
