Jennifer, the “Hopeful Homemaker” at UVQG

Yesterday I attended the Utah Valley Quilt Guild meeting (I ran down to the valley from our writing retreat, then returned). Our quest was Jennifer.  She keeps a blog called “the Hopeful Homemaker.” She’s LDS, mother of 8, stressed, trying to hold her family together. She said “quilting keeps me from sinking.” She had a trunk show with her quilts, all original patters, leaning towards modern and artsy.  They were interesting to look at. She had a lot to say about why she quilts (to stay sane and as a creative outlet). She applauded us for being creators of beauty in this often hard world. I came away feeling uplifted and grateful for quilting and fabric and this creative outlet.
