Our Laemmlen Christmas gatherings have turned into wonderful German Fests the last few years. We are happy to be home again, celebrating Germany here, on this side of the ocean. This year we went to Paul and Leslie’s for our dinner.
We grilled Brats and made fried potatoes and a cucumber salad. Leslie made Schnitzel and salad. Riana made Spaetzle and Apfel Strudel. Janelle made pretzels a delicious Black Forrest Cake. Oh my, the food was SO GOOD!
We remember and honor our Grandparents, Rudolf and Elsa Laemmlen, who came to America in 1929. How our lives would be different now if they had stayed and lived through the war! I am so grateful for them.
After dinner we brought out our bell chimes and taught everyone to play. It was so fun. These bells were a fun investment I bought for our family many years ago for Christmas. Every year we get them out and teach family and friends how to play them. It really is so fun!
